Best and easiest way " How to propagate Rosemary"?
If your like me, a lover of gardening. You may already have some rosemary in your garden. If not and you have a family member or friend who does. You can request that they give you some stem cuttings, and propagate them into your own plant, or plants.
I have a bunch of Rosemary in my garden, and it is all from propagating cuttings. I even have a plant in my front garden.
I love the smell of Rosemary, for cooking I don't really use it, but I do enjoy it in a tea.
So now that we have some Rosemary cuttings, you will remove about have of the leaves from the bottom like the image below.
I recommend obtaining a bunch of stems, as not all will root. If you get some really long stems, you can use the whole stem for propagating as well. Just remember which side is up. How I keep track of what side is up if I am using cuttings from the middle, I cut a slant at the bottom.
It is also very important to soak your cuttings into water right away after cutting, as they will start drying up immediately.
I have had successful rootings with numerous soils, I have used just soil from my garden, as well as store bought potting soil. I make my own but you can use what ever you have around.
In reality I have never kept tract of how long it takes to root. But they do. I hope you enjoy gardening as much as I do, and let me know how it went.
